Is Ming Hua a theological College for Sheng Kung Hui members only?
Ming Hua welcomes everyone who is interested to explore the Christian faith thoughtfully. Ourstudents and Faculty members are from both HKSKH and other denominations.
What programmes are offered at Ming Hua?

What language are the programmes taught in?
lecturers. For the Certificate Programme, it is mostly conducted in Cantonese.
What are the admission requirements and English language proficiency of Master of Theology?
• Have obtained a Credit average or higher in a Graduate Diploma of Theology or an Australian
Qualifications Framework (AQF) equivalent course in Theology or Divinity; OR
• Hold a Bachelor degree in Theology (or AQF equivalent).
English language proficiency
• IELTS 6.5 (at least 6.0 in each component); OR
• Level 4 in HKDSE English Language; OR
• Grade D in HKALE Use of English
What are the admission requirements and English language proficiency of Bachelor of Theology?
Admission requirements
• Aggregate score of 13 in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education(HKDSE); OR
• Pass two subjects in Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE); OR
• Prior study at University with successful completion of at least two subjects; OR
• Demonstrated industry experience (e.g. work in church or NGO-type ministry, nursing or
related healthcare disciplines and school teaching) of at least two years, plus a letter of motivation and two letters of reference.
English language proficiency
• IELTS 6.5 (at least 6.0 in each component); OR
• Level 4 in HKDSE English Language; OR
• Grade D in HKALE Use of English
Are these degree programmes recognised in Hong Kong?
under the Non-Local Higher and Professional Education (Regulation) Ordinance. Upon
completion of the programme, the students will be awarded the Degree by CSU.

courses may lead.
What career opportunities are available after completion of these degrees?
Church more deeply. The programme aims to equip students for leadership and ministry in the life
and work of the church with a comprehensive foundation in theological and biblical studies.
Building on previous theological study, students completing the Master programme will achieve a
high level of professional development, independent judgement and creative thinking in
contemporary theology. This programme provides a pathway to research higher degree studies in
theology.
How long do the degrees take to complete?
For the Bachelor of Theology, students may complete the course in 3 years on a full-time basis, or
up to 12 years on a part-time basis.
For the Master of Theology, students may complete the course in 1.5 years on a full-time basis, or
up to 3 years on a part-time basis.
How many subjects are studied in the degrees?
For the Bachelor of Theology, students are required to complete 24 subjects (192 points) to graduate.
For Master of Theology, students are required to complete 5 or 6 subjects (96 points) to graduate.
How much does it cost?
For the Master of Theology, tuition fee for a 16-point subject is HK$14,500.
(Fees are subject to annual review for adjustment.)
Is there any financial support?
Students on the degree programmes are eligible to apply for an Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (ENLS) loan to cover their tuition fees. For further information, please follow this link:

Can overseas students apply for the degree programmes?
For the time being, the degree programmes offered in partnership with CSU are for Hong Kong residents only.
Would subjects studied under another similar programme receive credit transfer into the degree programmes?
In general, students will qualify to apply for credit transfer, however, each application will be considered on a case by case basis
When are the lectures held? Would it be possible to take only one subject per semester?
