Introduction

This course aims to provide a thorough study of the Old Testament and New Testament, including the Apocrypha, with multiple perspectives in order to equip the students the ability to grasp the truth of the Bible within the challenging world of 21st century.

Subjects

Core Subjects (32 credits):

1. Introduction to Biblical Studies (4 credits)
2. Introduction to Old Testament (10 credits)
3. Introduction to Apocrypha (8 credits)
4. Introduction to New Testament (10 credits)

Electives:

1. Introduction to Biblical Studies (4 credits)
2. Introduction to Old Testament (10 credits)
3. Introduction to Psalm and Wisdom Literature (10 credits)
4. Introduction to Letters of Paul (10 credits)
5. Introduction to Gospels (10 credits)

Remark: 1 credit for two-hour face-to-face lecture

Entry Requirements

Higher Diploma in Biblical Studies

• DSE level or equivalent
• Elementary Diploma in Biblical Studies or equivalent
• Support of parish priest

Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies

• DSE entrance requirement for Bachelor degree or equivalent
• Elementary Diploma in Biblical Studies or equivalent
• Support of parish priest

Master of Arts in Biblical Studies

• Bachelor or higher degree or equivalent
• Elementary Diploma in Biblical Studies or equivalent
• Support of parish priest

Graduation Requirements

Higher Diploma in Biblical Studies

• 4 Core Subjects + 4 Electives (72 credits; all subjects must be passed.)
• Coursework of Core Subjects and Electives: 300 Chinese words or 250 English words per credit

Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies

• 4 Core Subjects + 4 Electives (72 credits; all subjects must be passed.)
• Coursework of Core Subjects and Electives: 400 Chinese words or 320 English words per credit
• Produce a Dissertation (20 credits; 8,000 Chinese words or 6,500 English words)

Master of Arts in Biblical Studies

• 4 Core Subjects + 4 Electives (72 credits; all subjects result must be CR or above.)
• Coursework of Core Subjects and Electives: 400 Chinese words or 320 English words per credit
• Produce a Dissertation (20 credits;15,000 Chinese words or 12,000 English words)
